This study was carried out on the findings on the perception of pre-service biology teachers towards improvisation using selected secondary schools in Ibadan, Oyo State as case study. The study was carried out to ascertain pre-service biology teachers attitude towards improvisation of instructional materials, assess the perception of pre-service biology teachers on the benefits of using improvised instructional materials in teaching and learning of biology in secondary schools, and assess the perception of pre-service biology teachers on the problems militating the improvisation of Instructional Materials for teaching and learning of biology in secondary schools. The survey design was adopted and the simple random sampling techniques were employed in this study. The population size comprised of pre-service biology teachers in selected secondary schools in Ibadan, Oyo State. In determining the sample size, the researcher purposefully selected 147 respondents and 141 were validated. Self-constructed and validated questionnaire was used for data collection. The collected and validated questionnaires were analyzed using frequency tables, and mean scores. While the hypotheses was tested chi-square statistical tool. The result of the findings reveals that pre-service biology teachers does not have negative attitude towards improvisation. Furthermore, the study revealed that pre-service biology teachers perceives that improvisation of instructional materials helps to capture and sustain the curiosity and interest of the learners towards the lesson in schools, helps to motivate students in the subject being taught, help to improve the overall performance of students in Biology, promotes timely lesson presentation in biology and that there is much retention of memory of what is taught whenever Improvised or local Biology Materials are used in the teaching in biologyt. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers should be trained and re-trained through workshops, seminars and conferences for the purpose of skill acquisition necessary for the production and use of instructional materials by teachers.. To mention but a few.
