Abstract

This study investigates the impact of practical teaching methods on the academic performance of Agricultural Science students in Ejigbo Local Government Area, Osun State. Using a structured questionnaire, data were collected from 120 participants. The findings reveal that practical teaching methods significantly enhance students’ understanding, retention, and academic performance in Agricultural Science compared to traditional lecture-based approaches. Despite these benefits, challenges such as limited resources, inadequate training, and time constraints hinder the effective implementation of practical teaching. The study concludes that practical methods are vital for improving student engagement and performance, recommending that schools invest in better resources and training for teachers to maximize the effectiveness of practical teaching in Agricultural Science.
