Abstract

This study focuses on optimizing oil production from a swampy, gas-lifted oil field situated onshore in Nigeria’s Niger Delta region. Utilizing Production and System Performance software (PROSPER), we designed gas-lift models and developed performance curves for each well. We also conducted a sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of variations in water cut, gas-lift injection rates at constant reservoir pressure, skin factor, and Gas-Oil Ratio (GOR) on overall well production. By analyzing the gas-lift performance curves, we determined that each well’s maximum production rate is achieved at an optimal gas injection rate. The field is capable of producing 3,430 STB/day of oil with an optimal gas injection rate of 9.35 MMSCF/day.
