1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
There have been some controversies about what entails the needs for the application of computer system some years ago in inventory management, the word of computer is basically a friendly one and no special credentials is needed to become part to it. It is true that modern computer system involves complex technologies and theories their use is becoming easier all the time. Computer has a general purpose nature which makes them versatile.
These controversies arose planners students inventory management executives top management and so other people.
Those who recognize the computer system have concluded that it has been in existence the evolution of management witnessed a remarkable development of data processing equipment used in aiding the recording of complex business system. Uzor quoting leaders and fearon (1997 ) stated
1. computerization in inventory management means converting the manual system into a computer system for efficient operations and much procurement organization are now using computer system.
2. thousands of requisition are received and process daily why request for quotation are set to suppliers, many quotations are received from suppliers and also analyzed and the volume of work involved in inventory management is large so to say and required computer to make it fast and easier to manager.
The application of computer system in inventory management is to ensure that the immediate availability of much more complete data for use in making purchase and related inventory’s decision because of its fantastic speed, the computer can supply management with virtually instancous reports which fights other wise take an army of clerk weeks to north’s to prepare and to update. They do a more effective and economic job of purchasing and managing the flow of inventory throughout the operation in Nigeria bottling company plc Owerri.
1.2 STATEMENT OF PROBLEMS
The basic and critical problems of research usually appear on the surface. It is therefore necessary to probe beneath the surface. In other to find out the nature and gravity of the problems, this is vital and must be done correctly to guide the research on work. Meanwhile, any mistake at the first step will lead to committing first degree error, that is selecting wrong problems and this will result to subsequent mistakes and errors.

1. to find out whether the view of existing literacy work in any department exposure has been made in this direction.
2. to conduct an important finding or research into the existing industries and institution to determine their level knowledge and shortcomings, with a view of bringing this focu vice cersa the computer system in inventory management.
3. to explore area of computer system which are akin to inventory management activities.
4. to investigate the impact of computer in inventory management through the use of data collected
1.4 THE RESEARCH QUESTION
To test the ascertained collecting responses from a group of question hidden in various parts of the questionnaire with the following questions.
